INTRO
The idea of the Snub Feeder has been around for a while and is one worth bringing back since performance surfboard design have lost their pretentions and are now open to changes to nose widths offering safer alternatives for those that rip and are determined to ride short without any loss of paddle. Having said that the bottom shape and rocker which are the engine room in this performance model have not changed.
PLAN SHAPE
The Snub is as it sounds that it has a snub nose. Pretty well a high-performance plan shape with one foot the nose chopped off and rounded. This effectively flattens the nose rocker and widens the nose at the same time making it a great paddler and a forgiveness up front that encourages front foot fearlessness. As is with most performance boards the Snub sports a squash tail.
ROCKER
The Snub has less nose rocker but still retains a tail flip common to high performance thrusters. This particularly facet when ridden short is as high performance as the best of them but safer up front.
BOTTOM SHAPE
The bottom shape is pretty well the same as most high-performance thrusters in that it has a deep single through the centre running into an even deeper single double right through the back half and all the way out the tail for maximum squirt.
FINS
The plan shape enables this design to be functional as a tri or quad so I have employed 5 fins for that choice.
