The Round Tail Twinzaa has been one of my best designs ever and indeed a totally original concept. This Twinzaa has little in common with the norm which are basically twin fin designs with a small side bight forward of the alphas. My current Twinzaa has been around for about 8 years andnow the time has come for the “Next Gen”.

The one thing about the Twinzaa besides its manoeuvrability is its miraculous speed from naught to 100 ! So if you think that model was fast wait till you lay the front foot down on the Next Gen !

PLANSHAPE
The plan shape of the Next Gen is exactly the same as the original. If it isn’t broke don’t fix it is the belief with this update where the planshape is concerned. A perfectly balanced nose with a well-positioned release flyer into a medium width round tail.

ROCKER AND BOTTOM SHAPE
Firsty, not forgetting the rocker is the engine of any design and I reckon the motor in this model also did not need change. With the Next Gen the bottom shape is where most of the changes have been introduced. The cathedral hull has been extended in length similar to that of my Hydro Twin fins and this extension as proven with the Hydro Twinny doubles the speed and gives the back half a super lift and catch free rotational feel. The relief vee is till in the last quarter out the tail and into that 2 deep exit channels has been introduced to give it the bight needed since the centre rear fin stabilizer has been removed.

RAILS + FINS
The rail shape has not been changed either and to say that having twin fin DNA the rails are not low because this is also where they get the lost drive from with the absence of a thruster positioned centre fin. Keep in mind that the swing capacity of Twins and to a slightly lesser degree with a Twinzaa is so quick a bit more meat steadies the ship in my opinion.

FINS AND SETTINGS (Fins Included)
Perhaps the most distinctive element of this design is the fin settings and the type of fins to facilitate these settings. There is a term used in sailing namely the Ventura system which is a way of setting sails in order to squirt air through them to create more speed when taking from side to side. The Twinzaa mimics the same notion by keeping the alpha rears more parallel to the stringer and the front side bights more angled too the nose point effectively narrowing the entry gap between the leading edges of front and back fins that are also very close together as were the original fins sets of the earlier Twinzaa models.

To enhance the twitch the alpha rears are closer to the stringer but are also specially designed to lean out to the rail to keep holding to the face through driving turns. This gives this design incredible reach but because of the very close cluster, the design of the Hornet fins and the round tail this boards turning arc is as tight as you would want. The Hornet quad fins are a necessary part of this design and will only be sold with these fins which are factored into the price.
